Kickoff Event

What an incredible kickoff event MaGESpire had last Friday! Organizers and panel speakers including myself, Jayne Chan Nenter Chow Padraig Walsh Akina Ho Lucie Acquaviva Joe Pan & Carrie Law 罗雪欣 gave a preview ahead of the main Game On! Summit www.GameOn.io event on Tues Oct. 22nd, as part of the StartmeupHK Festival 2024. Sam, teacher-turned-manager of the Hong Kong PoKeMoN Gaming Go Team, however, was the star of the night. He delivered a heartfelt presentation that truly captivated a room full of crypto enthusiasts—known for their short attention spans. 

For over 25 minutes, Sam Lock Cheung shared his struggles and triumphs in raising funds that many in the room considered pocket change. Despite facing harsh rejections and even ridicules, he never gave up. His perseverance paid off, allowing him to raise enough to cover the travel expenses for the Hong Kong team—not just once, but twice! The rest, as they say, is history.
